🌍 Group Travel: Unlocking Skills and Perspectives, Through Real-World Experiences
You've been feeling stuck and uninspired.
You're not alone.
You’ve seen everyone around you living life, doing fun things with friends, getting a job, moving out, finding a partner, or travelling the world.
But you can’t think of anything worse than being around people you have nothing in common with, who you have to put on an invisible mask for, just to stay safe.
Life feels stuck, or moving too slowly. You’re comfortable enough, but you know you’re probably too comfortable.
Is this all there is?
The truth is… it’s not. Not anymore.
The world is waiting for you, and sometimes, it all starts with getting out of your comfort zone.
You've been feeling stuck and uninspired.
You're not alone.
Perhaps you tried something once, and it didn’t work out at the first go.
So you don’t bother, and you retreat again. Eventually something will change…
But turns out… You are the change. And the time is now.
Get more out of life, and practice travel with people who gets it
Travelling and short trips away can help you build skills, independence, and meet people you don’t need to mask with.
Many of our travellers go from being lonely or dependant on family, to making friends, doing things without parents, becoming more confident, travelling more independently and feeling hopeful about the future.
Our aim is to be a ‘stepping stone’ for future independence.
Have something to look forward to and get the most out of life!

Frequently Asked Questions
Travengers’ group trips are suitable for young neurodivergent adults (18-35’s).
Our group trips are most suitable for young adults who are quite independent, but who may need some support in some areas.
We currently do not provide support for direct personal care or manual handling, or other medical support, except from medication prompting and epilepsy support. We might however be able to help you find organisations with a different expertise.
We provide a range of skill building activities when we travel or attend social groups. These may include:
– build confidence and overcome new challenges
– become more comfortable being in new environments
– choosing healthy food or trying new food
– paying by using cash or credit card, and budgeting
– getting around and using public transport, using apps such as Google maps
– social skills, and practising conversation and problem solving with peers
– packing
– personal hygiene
– challenging yourself by trying new things
– becoming more confident meeting new people or trying new activities
– learning about and building connections with people outside of your usual circle
– learning coping mechanisms
– practice independence by being away from your usual surroundings and routines.
Your Support Guide works as a mentor as well as a travel companion.
While we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, we have seen so many young people flourish at Travengers, building friendships, becoming more confident, travelling independently. These skills have also had a ripple effect, where several have moved out of home and gotten jobs, and hanging with friends also outside Travengers.
One of Travengers’ principal focus areas is sparking independence and growth apart from family. Instead, you can bring a carer you already know and trust.
We also know that building independence can be a process, and that the family wants to create memories together too. We are therefore happy to discuss providing Support Workers for your family trip.
Prices depend on the support ratio, the size of the group, the length of the trip, your activities, and other variables.
You can see costs and inclusions on each trip page.

We try our best to accommodate budget options where requested.
If you have NDIS, you may be able to use NDIS funding for social groups, 1:1 support and group programs.
How much and how depends on what you have in your plan and what your goals are. Ask us for options, or speak to your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager or LAC.
If using NDIS funding, we accommodate NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed.
For overseas trips, you may be able to use some funding for the support portion, depending on various factors.
Self-funded costs always apply. Ask us for a quote, and speak to your NDIS planner, LAC or plan manager.
Yes. Quality and safety are important to us, and our Support Workers have relevant experience as well as holding a Working With Children Check, Police Check and First Aid Certificate, as well as 2 reference checks.
Many also have other relevant certificates or education, and/or are neurodivergent themselves.
We also make sure all guides are passionate about this type of work!
It is highly recommended that you hold your own travel insurance. Travengers is not liable for loss, damage or injury that happens during a tour where it is usually covered by travel insurance.
If you are doing specific activities during your trip, ask your travel insurer if you are covered for this or not. If you have a medical condition, it is a good idea to check if your condition is covered by your insurance. We also recommend discussing with your doctor before travelling, especially overseas or where there are high-risk activities involved.
If it’s a group trip and it’s more than 3 months in advance, you can ask us if it will be possible. We can not guarantee it however.
If it’s a bespoke trip, then yes! Travengers is flexible and we can change itineraries and activities based on your interests, or we can create a fully bespoke itinerary for you.
You don’t even need to know where or when, we will listen and ask about your interests, and come up with suitable suggestions.
If you have different preferences of accommodation than listed in an itinerary we can modify this as well
Prices are based on shared rooms, but you can request to have a private room for an additional cost. This can not always be guaranteed.
If this is an absolute requirement for you, let us know upfront before you book so we can let you know if this will be possible for a specific trip.
We have some that have travelled with us that are up to 41.
We consider it on a case by case basis, including the age of the others in the group who have booked, to ensure the group is age appropriate for everyone involved.
Please contact us to enquire.
We now have separate social groups for 15-18’s, but 15 is our lower age limit.
No, NDIS does not cover your flights.
That’s okay!
We can help you organise flights/transport to meet the group.
We have for example helped organise travellers from Melbourne meet the group in Auckland with support from the airline, or a traveller from Cairns to meet the group on the Gold Coast.
We also have a virtual travel group, and an online gaming club you can join from anywhere via Zoom!
Yes, we also offer 1:1 supported trips if you have a specific trip or plan in mind.
Please keep in mind that the costs are usually higher than on group trips.
Contact our team to discuss or fill in the quote request form with some details about what you have in mind and we’ll be in touch.
