FAQ
If I sign up, can I cancel?
Yes, you can cancel a subscription anytime. If you cancel, and you go to events after you cancel, you will be billed for the individual event.
Can I claim it from NDIS?
Yes, if you have an NDIS plan, you will most likely be able to claim it for core.
On the receipt generated, you will find our usual NDIS codes.
If you are unsure, ask an NDIS representative or your Plan Manager before making a payment.
I don't live in Sydney or Melbourne. Do I need to sign up?
No, if you don’t live in Sydney or Melbourne, it will likely be more value to you to pay for each trip individually. But don’t worry! The quality of the trips are the same whether you’re a subscriber or not 🙂
I only want to go on trips, I don't need social events. What do I do?
If you only want to access trips, you can choose to pay for each trip and service individually (the Basic option).
That means we will instead invoice you for each trip or other service.
If you change your mind you can try one of the membership options for a limited time.
Can I get an NDIS quote or report if I'm not member?
Yes, however you must ask us for a quote, fill the form we give you, and pay for the report and quote ($57).
If you’re a paid subscriber, the report and quote is included, and you can access the form in your online account.
I don't have NDIS. Can I still join?
For sure! The only difference is it would need to be self-funded by you.
If you need supporting documents to apply for NDIS, email us at info@travengers.com.au.
What is the customer success program?
The Customer Success Program is a new program where we help you track your progress with us closer.
We will check in with you monthly to see how you’re going, and record your wins.
This will also help you get more detailed NDIS reports and funding.
This is only available when you’re a Travengers monthly subscriber.
Will you send the invoice to my Plan Manager?
If you want the invoice sent to your Plan Manager, you can either:
1) enter your Plan Manager’s email when you sign up, or
2) forward your invoice to your Plan Manager after you’ve paid for the subscription.

FAQ
Travengers’ social group and group trips are suitable for teens and young neurodivergent adults (15-35’s). If you also want to become more independent, social, confident, or get more out of life, then our social events or trips might be for you.
Our group trips and social groups are most suitable for teens or young adults with low support needs (quite independent, but need some support – often ASD level 1 or 2, or mild intellectual disabilities)
We currently do not provide support for direct personal care or manual handling, or other medical support, except from medication prompting and epilepsy support. We might however be able to help you find organisations with a different expertise.
We provide a range of skill building activities when we travel or attend social groups. These may include:
– build confidence and overcome new challenges
– become more comfortable being in new environments
– choosing healthy food or trying new food
– paying by using cash or credit card, and budgeting
– getting around and using public transport, using apps such as Google maps
– social skills, and practising conversation and problem solving with peers
– packing
– personal hygiene
– challenging yourself by trying new things
– becoming more confident meeting new people or trying new activities
– learning about and building connections with people outside of your usual circle
– learning coping mechanisms
– practice independence by being away from your usual surroundings and routines.
Your Support Guide work as a mentor as well as a travel companion.
We have seen so many young people flourish at Travengers, building friendships, becoming more confident, and also moving out of home and getting jobs.
One of Travengers’ principal focus areas is sparking independence and growth apart from family. Instead, you can bring a carer you already know and trust.
We also know that building independence can be a process, and that the family wants to create memories together too. We are therefore happy to discuss providing Support Workers for your family trip.
Quite possibly!
We know that sometimes it’s daunting joining new environments or groups, and we are therefore as flexible as possible.
Because of insurances, we need to use our own Support Workers. However, if you would like your own Support Worker to come along too to an event or a trip, we can discuss this with you or the worker and possibly organise it for your trip.
Prices depend on the support ratio, the size of the group, the length of the trip, your activities, and other variables.
Our trips include everything on your trip, except pocket money and travel insurance.
Get in touch with our friendly team and get a quote.
We try our best to accommodate budget options where requested.
If you have NDIS, you may be able to use NDIS funding for social groups, 1:1 support and group programs.
How much and how depends on what you have in your plan and what your goals are. Ask us for options, or speak to your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager or LAC.
If using NDIS funding, we accommodate NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed.
For overseas trips, you may be able to use some funding for the support portion, depending on various factors.
Self-funded costs always apply. Ask us for a quote, and speak to your NDIS planner, LAC or plan manager.
Yes. Quality and safety are important to us, and our Support Workers have relevant experience as well as holding a Working With Children Check, Police Check and First Aid Certificate, as well as 2 reference checks.
We also make sure all guides are passionate about this type of work!
It is highly recommended that you hold your own travel insurance. Travengers is not liable for loss, damage or injury that happens during a tour where it is usually covered by travel insurance.
If you are doing specific activities during your trip, ask your travel insurer if you are covered for this or not. If you have a medical condition, it is a good idea to check if your condition is covered by your insurance. We also recommend discussing with your doctor before travelling, especially overseas or where there are high-risk activities involved.
If it’s a group trip and it’s more than 3 months in advance, you can ask us if it will be possible. We can not guarantee it however.
If it’s a bespoke trip, then yes! Travengers is flexible and we can change itineraries and activities based on your interests, or we can create a fully bespoke itinerary for you.
You don’t even need to know where or when, we will listen and ask about your interests, and come up with suitable suggestions.
If you have different preferences of accommodation than listed in an itinerary we can modify this as well
Prices are based on shared rooms, but you can request to have a private room for an additional cost. This can not always be guaranteed.
If this is an absolute requirement for you, let us know upfront before you book so we can let you know if this will be possible for a specific trip.
Travengers is a travel service focusing on social connection, growth and independence for young adults who often fall in between the mainstream groups and other disability groups. It is created by neurodivergent people, for neurodivergent people.
We create age-appropriate trips and focus on social inclusion in tourism, heavily focused on autism and hidden disabilities.
We have a large network of people interested in being more social, building independence and travelling, and we try our best to connect with like-minded people.
We’re passionate about acceptance and appreciation of autism and hidden disabilities, and our goal is to pave a way for inclusive tourism and society as a whole, especially in regards to hidden disabilities.
If you are older than 35, we now have a 35+ social group and group trips available!
If you’re younger than 15-35, we may still be able to arrange a trip for you. Get in touch, we’re happy to discuss options with you.
No, NDIS does not cover your flights.
That’s okay!
We can help you organise flights/transport to meet the group.
We have for example helped organise travellers from Melbourne meet the group in Auckland with support from the airline, or a traveller from Cairns to meet the group on the Gold Coast.
If we are doing a trip to your state, you can also join us for one of the activities or the full trip.
We are planning on setting up social groups across the country, so sign up to our newsletter to stay in the loop.
We also have a virtual travel group you can join from anywhere via Zoom!
For details, go to the page “Virtual Travel Group”.
Or book a Zoom call to get help organising your next trip!
Yes, we offer 1:1 support for capacity building support and also for community access outside of our social groups.
You can work with a support worker/support guide to build independence in other areas of life such as taking public transport, shopping, cooking, or even to build up the confidence to eventually attend our social groups.
We often hear from people who would really like to be more social but may be too anxious to attend a group.
Working with a support worker/support guide 1:1 can help build up that social confidence, and may be able to attend the event with you for the first times.
